|Who works at APEC-VC Secretariat?|
|Based in Korea, APEC-VC Secretariat is operated by Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute (KEITI).
KEITI is a public organization founded in 2009 in accordance with the Development of Environmental Technology and Support for Environmental Industry Act. The objective of KEITI is to contribute to improving quality of life and advancing the national economy.
The APEC-VC Secretariat is located on 215, Jinheung-ro, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, 122-706, Republic of Korea
|What are APEC-VC’s main goals?|
|The objective of this project is to exchange of environmental technologies and products and then increase the green economy through the focus on developing economies and SME’s environmental industry. We are planning to invite private sector such as environmental companies and provide a match making between the supplier and the consumer. This will contribute to improve the technology of SME’s access to the global markets.|
|What is APEC-VC?|
APEC Virtual Center for Environmental Technology Exchange is a website to exchange environmental technology information provided by various national and regional members of APEC (the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Group) over the Internet.
APEC-VC was approved as a formal APEC joint project at the Osaka APEC meeting in 1995. In 1996, Supporting Committee for APEC Virtual Center for Environmental Technology Exchange was established in Japan, and in 1997, APEC Virtual Center Japan began its operation. APEC Virtual Centers in 11 APEC economies are in operation as of July 2005.
This project has won approval for extension of period at the APEC-IST WG meeting in 2012 and belongs to PPSTI-WG. This website is aim to become a global hub of environmental technology exchange, and constructed with APEC Project Fund in January 2014.
